This cabinet was my first project at New England School of Architectural Woodworking's Cabinetmaking Career Training program in 2010.  It combines all the cabinetmaking techniques needed to create a full kitchen's worth of cabinets: drafting, selecting wood, milling, joinery, veneering, finishing.

The sides are bookmatched veneer panels, and the top is a checkerboard veneer.  The drawer is dovetailed and has half-roundovered top edges, and the pull is from a vintage Hamilton print case.  The door has raised-edge panels, and opens to a compartment with an adjustable shelf.  Placement of the wood was carefully selected: note the drawer front grain surrounding the handle.

I took my graduation photos extremely seriously.
